Erstwhile administration had taken care to ensure that the image of Bhagat Singh would be portrayed as if it was against Mahatma Gandhi. Unfortunately, there is no record of Bhagat Singh as a ‘martyr’ at the government level. Such remorse was expressed by the grandson of Bhagat Singh, Mr, Abhitej Singh Sandhu. (On one hand, the Union government refers Bhagat Singh as a ‘terrorist’ in ‘NCERT’ curriculum, and on the other, State government does not keep his record as a ‘martyr’.
