Crackdown on Hindu rights crusader

Bengal Panchayat elections: Crackdown on Hindu rights crusader By Sandhya Jain   The West Bengal Panchayat elections, slated to be held in April or May this year, seem to have unleashed a fresh round of minority appeasement, with the sudden arrest of Hindu rights crusader Tapan Ghosh on March 14. The event appears to be a follow-up of last month’s violence against the Hindu community in South 24 Parganas, in which 200 Hindu homes were destroyed across four villages, the temple burnt, and several shops gutted, after a maulvi was robbed and murdered on the adjacent highway by unknown persons on February 19. The attack on innocent Hindus was premeditated as assailants armed with petrol bombs and arms descended in trucks from distant Kolkata suburbs; no arrests have been made till date. Instead, the State managed a complete media blackout of the violence; showered Rs. 3 lakh compensation on the murdered man’s family, and doled out a mere Rs. 10,000/- each for the g

Incredible view of Meenakshi Amman Temple, Madurai, Tamilnadu - INDIA...

HISTORY According to legend, the sacred Suyambulingam discovered by the king of Gods indira at Kadambavanam, was later enshrined by him in Madurai. The fact that the Lord is seen on the vehicle of Indira in this temple is said to be proof for this.  Many historical evidences of the temple have been found dating back from early A.D The temple was almost completely destroyed in the year 1310 following the invasion of the Islamic conqueror Malikkapur. As kings who were followers of Islam were noted for their intolerance towards other religions, the invaders destroyed most of the ancient sculptures of the temple. Thirugnanasambandar the Hindu Saint has mentioned the temple in his songs which go back to early 7thcentury. The Lord has been described as Alavai Iraivan in his songs. The temple was restored to its pristine glory in the late 14th century when the Hindu Kings came back to power in Madurai. This can also be termed as a new beginning of a new era in the history of the temple, when

NOW I BECOME DEATH, THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS!!

A portion of an interview given by Oppenheimer after the test of FIRST ATOMIC BOMB - code named TRINITY in New Mexico, USA: “We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.” ― J. Robert Oppenheimer (American theoretical physicist, Often referred to as the "father of the atomic bomb") http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8H7Jibx-c0 Atomic Age - J. Robert Oppenheimer Quote J. Saving One Dolphin at a time...

Saving One Dolphin at a time...  Professor RK Sinha of Patna University is popularly known as India's dolphin man. Thanks to him, dolphins have now been declared as the National Aquatic Animal. Ganga is the lifeline to millions of its devotees. But along one of its many banks is a man who has devoted his life to it and a life that lives within it. For almost 25 years, Dr RK Sinha, a professor at  the Patna university, has been following the Gangetic dolphin, a solitary mammal that not many know about. Victim to rampant poaching, the majestic mammals were on the brink of extinction when Professor Sinha stepped in. "This is my intention, this is my mission, this is my passion that dolphin should be conserved so that the future generations can see this animal," Sinha said. It was no easy task. With some 3,000 odd dolphins left, the challenge was to save them from poachers and help them breed naturally to increase their population. Professor Sinha first roped in the fisher

Three cheetahs spare tiny antelope's life... and play with him instead

Hello little antelope, would you like to play with us?  REMEMBER TO SHARE AND INSPIRE OTHERS... :) Coming from three deadly cheetahs, it's the kind of invitation that's best refused - but amazingly, this impala escaped unscathed from its encounter. Luckily for the youngster, it seems these three male cheetahs simply weren't hungry. That's because unlike other big cats, the cheetah hunts in the daytime, either in the early morning or late afternoon. The bursts of speed needed to catch their prey tire them out - meaning they need to rest after a kill. And that seems to be the secret to the antelope's survival, as it's likely it fell into the cheetahs' clutches when they were already full - and tired out - from an earlier hunt. Photographer Michel Denis-Huot, who captured these amazing pictures on safari in Kenya's Masai Mara in October last year, said he was astounded by what he saw. 'These three brothers have been living together since they left thei
