Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh) : A local court has directed the Kushaiguda police to register a criminal case against Congress president Sonia Gandhi for allegedly cheating people of the Telangana region and "having dual citizenship" on different names. On January 29, BJP leader Satish Agarwal had filed a private petition in the II Metropolitan Magistrate's court of Malkajgiri alleging that Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, during her 2004 election campaign speech in Karimnagar, had duped the four crore people of Telangana by promising them a separate state if they vote for the party. The promise was also reiterated in the Congress' election manifesto.
