Cops reach Owaisi's home for questioning January 7, 2013 Hyderabad (Andra Pradesh) : In a major development, police reached Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi's residence to question him in connection with a case against him for making alleged hate speeches last month. According to media reports, the cops reached MIM leader's residence with a team of doctors to examine Owaisi, who returned to Hyderabad from London on early Monday. He had claimed that he was unwell. A large crowd of people was seen outside the residence when the cops arrived on Monday evening. The accused politician Bikrmasingh Brahma was the Congress candidate from Sapaguri assembly constituency in Baksa district in the 2011 assembly election which he lost. The villagers of Salbari beat up the politician before handing him over to police. Though he has not yet been arrested, but he is in police custody.
