Swami Vivekananda’s talk on Shivaji

An Evening talk on Shivaji It was a beautiful moonlit  night and Swamiji was sitting in the verandah of the bungalow of the late Mr. Bhattacharjee on the South Beach of Madras (already referred to), conversing in Hindi with Mr. Munshi Jagamohanlal, the private secretary of the Maharajah of Khetri. This gentleman had been sent by the Maharajah to trace out the whereabouts of the Swamiji and to fetch him back to Khetri to bless the newly born son and heir to the State. When Swamiji  was at Khetri about a year previously, the Maharajah of Khetri had begged of him to confer the boon of a son and Swamiji while he was in one of his higher moods had actually blessed him saying that God had granted his prayer. So the Maharajah wanted Swamiji back in his palace at any cost and could not remain contented until he saw him. When I went over there after my office work I prostrated before Swamiji and took my seat; and suddenly Swamiji began to sing a Hindi song in praise of Shivaji ...

Indians should protest lawfully against remarks of Shashi Tharoor insulting Swami Vivekananda ! - Editor   Controversy’s favorite child and Minister of State for Human Resource of Development Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday had courted yet another controversy by calling youth icon Swami Vivekananda alcoholic while speaking at an event on Swamiji’s 150 birth anniversary. This has hurt the sentiments of the people with BJP leader O Rajagopal demanding an apology from the Union Minister. Speaking to media in Thiruvananthapuram, Rajagopal slammed the remark of Tharoor who had said on the occasion of unveiling the statue of Swami Vivekananda that Swamiji ate meat and drank liquor. 15 Laws of Life

  1. Love Is The Law Of Life : All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore, love for love's sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live. 2. It's Your Outlook That Matters: It is our own mental attitude, which makes the world what it is for us. Our thoughts make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see things in the proper light. 3. Life is Beautiful: First, believe in this world - that there is meaning behind everything. Everything in the world is good, is holy and beautiful. If you see something evil, think that you do not understand it in the right light. Throw the burden on yourselves! 4. It's The Way You Feel: Feel like Christ and you will be a Christ; feel like Buddha and you will be a Buddha. It is feeling that is the life, the strength, the vitalit...

MODI WINS OVER THE ‘CITY OF JOY’

MODI WINS OVER THE ‘CITY OF JOY’ M odi’s recent visit to K olkata has been a subject of much political speculation in the recent years. His tour can be seen as a very crucial turning point in the politics of India as this is the first time that the CM from Gujarat has visited West Bengal . And, as the 2014 General Elections are approaching, more and more speculations have started to build around Modi’s visit to Kolkata. Modi’s political party, BJP has never had a very strong presence in the state of West Bengal. With the Congress, TMC and the Left Front vying for power, BJP has always been an insignificant political party in the state. Narendra Modi has been known to be a strong statesman who cuts across boundaries of state and political ideology. As a matter of fact, people from Bengal were very enthusiastic on his visit even though his party has only 1 Lok Sabha seat from the entire state. From analysis of his political behaviour on that specific day, it is evident that...

Why is there such a vociferous opposition against Hindu Samhati?

Why is there such a vociferous opposition against Hindu Samhati?  Link :  http:// hinduopinion.blogspot.in/ 2013/04/ why-is-there-such-vociferou s-opposition.html   http://www.facebook.com/ hindu.samhati.3 TAG ✔ COMMENT ✔ SHARE ✔ --------- Both political pundits and experienced activists do assert that any organization undergoes three stages in its life span – they are disdain and negligence, vigorous opposition and recognition (last and final stage). Now if the saga of fiver years of Hindu Samhati (ever since its inception) is considered – the organization is having the second stage or vigorous opposition at the moment. Hindu Samhati took merely three years to go beyond the first stage and only on the fourth anniversary (2012) we had to face immense repression of the state government. Even one of our supporters, aged 84, was arrested on flimsy ground as the administration was hell-bent to hinder our fortitude to celebrate fourth anniversary with splendor come what may...

150th Birth Anniversary of Swamiji. Back To Vivekananda – A Mission to Achieve.

Back To Vivekananda – A Mission to Achieve.  ~ Upananda Brahmachari.   “I shall not cease to work. I shall inspire men everywhere, until the world shall know that it is one with God” – Swami Vivekananda. I n my face book page I wanted to know that: Year long celebration (12-01-2012 ~to~ 12-01-2013) will start on tomorrow timeline for the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Greatest Humanist and the Hindu Monk of Modern Times. How do you think to pay homage to this Great son of Mother India? One of my friend, Raja Nambiar from Bangalore replied without delay that: “Best wishes on Celebrations of Gurudev’s 150th Birth Anniversary ….!! OM !!” Holding the truth that Nambiar considers Swamiji as his Gurudev and certainly will arrange candles, aroma sticks, fruits, sweets, flowers (may not Cigar and chocolate as offered in Belur Math in Swamiji’s birthday with other items) for a homely grandeur, I reacted : ‎”@  Raja Nambiar ...
