ISIS terrorism : India and threat of global jihad

  The seizure of the Iraqi city of Mosul last week was terrorist in purpose but military in design. They were not there just to do random damage and prove their point. It was a well-strategised attack in which they robbed millions from banks, opened gates of prisons, burned vehicles, killed civilians and still earned greetings from a section of civilians. ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria), founded in 2006 under the name of ISI (Islamic State in Iraq), which overran towns and cities north and west of Baghdad over the past week is an unrecognised State and Jihadi militant group in Iraq and Syria influenced by the Wahabi movement. USA : Hindu group proposes Lord Hanuman monument at Oklahoma State Capital

Just days after the news broke that a Satanic Temple in New York City is seeking to build a monument to Satan on the grounds of the Oklahoma Capitol, a Hindu organization announced this week that it, too, would like to build a monument there, to one of its chief deities. Rajan Zed, president of Universal Society of Hinduism, emailed his request to the Oklahoma State Capitol Preservation Commission. Zed, of Nevada, said in a press release that Hindus want to erect a statue of Lord Hanuman, a Hindu deity “who was greatly revered and worshipped and known for incredible strength and was (a) perfect grammarian.” He said the statue would raise awareness of Oklahomans about Hinduism. First Ever Diwali Celebration in US Congress

WASHINGTON:  The first ever Diwali festival was celebrated at the US Congress today amidst chanting of Vedic mantras by a Hindu priest .Over two dozen influential lawmakers along with eminent Indian-Americans gathered at the Capitol Hill to lit the traditional ‘diyas’. The event  — the first of its kind event at the Capitol Hill — was organised by the two Co-Chairs of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans, Congressmen Joe Crowley and Peter Roskam in recognition of increasing presence of the Indian-American community. The occasion  was also used to highlight significance of India-US relationship. “I have come here to say Happy Diwali,” said Nancy Pelosi, Leader of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives. “United States owes a great debt of gratitude to India.
