Malaysia: Hindus count, Hindraf ban lifted

In a major overture to its Indian-origin citizens (mainly Hindus of Tamil stock), the Malaysian government lifted its four-year ban on the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf), on the eve of the auspicious Tamil month of Thaipusam, on January 25, 2013. The Registrar of Societies informed Hindraf chairman P Waythamoorthy that Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein had lifted the ban imposed on Oct 14, 2008, under Clause 5 of the Societies Act 1966, which gives authorities absolute discretion to ban any organization in the interests of national security and public order. Hindraf is a voluntary organization of the descendants of the Tamil indentured labour brought to work on the plantations of British landowners in the colonial period. In the decades since independence, they have suffered much State-sponsored discrimination and oppression. On Nov 25, 2007, Hindraf brought 30,000 Indian Malaysians out on the streets of Kuala Lumpur to protest against the growing marginalisation of th...

Harvard University Professor begins an Anti-Hindu crusade

Hindus in the USA are lost or abandoned people! NRI stands for Non-Returning Indians! Indians in the USA do not invest in the higher education of their children! Second generation [Hindu] people just understand [Hinduism] as "boaring rituals" (puja, etc.), temple visits and Indian (mythological) comic books ... All such items add to the heady brew that we have seen emerging here... These are the words of Michael Witzel against the Hindus in the United States. Shame on us Hindus, who can listen to such derogatory words against our community with mute spectatorship. Michael Witzel has seemingly united hands with Amarjit Singh of the Ex-Khalistan Movement, Marxist Communist Hindus like Romila Thapar who take pride in their neutrality and John Dayal, the Christian maniacal author who spews venom against Hindus and is infamous for writing anti-Hindu myths ! Together, this bandwagon of crusaders against "Hindu Saffron Terrorists" are opposing chan...

Hindus fostering the belief 'All Religions Are Equal' are betraying themselves!

H.H. Gurudev Dr. Kate Swamiji The psyche of Hindus that ‘All Religions Are Equal’ is a centuries old misbelief. The reason for this being ignorance in the minds of Hindus about the principles and history of the Sanatan Hindu Dharma. A Hindu, brought up in the Sanatan Hindu tradition, cannot even imagine in his dreams that ‘In order to attain heaven any religion can advise the ritual of serial killing’. For thousands of years, these religious persons (Islam, Christians) have carried out demonical killings of Hindus in a manner that can be described as ‘Neither in the Past nor in the Future’. (Means an event that has neither occurred in the past nor will occur in the future). In spite of this, the Hindu mind (psyche) asserts ‘there must be some mistake somewhere. Would religions like Christianity, Islam that have been advocated by Prophets advise committing of sins?’ The founders of those religions must have themselves not understood them properly, else how will ...

Hafiz’s threats a bid to boost jihadis’ morale

New Delhi : Lashkar-e-Taiba boss Hafiz Saeed's recent threats to step up violence in Jammu and Kashmir after the US pullout from Afghanistan in a year's time might be crafty attempts to boost the morale of separatists and rally jihadi factions. Saeed's public statements and his private pledges to a visiting Hurriyat delegation are being seen in the context of an increasing flow of Kashmiri "returnees" in contrast to lower numbers of infiltrators in the past couple of years. Kashmiris who had gone to Pakistan and have chosen to return to the Indian side — following the Nepal route -- have been rising with some 550 persons reaching Jammu and Kashmir last year as against a much lower estimate of infiltrators. The returnees comprised 124 men who had previously crossed over and their families. Security forces have become more adept at foiling infiltration and although the figures for those who have successfully slipped in are debatable, the state adm...

Will unite Hindus all over the nation to build Ram temple : VHP

Unanimous resolution of Dharmacharyas, Saints and Sages in Dharma Sansad of VHP ! Prayagaraj (Uttar Pradesh) : The agitation organised for building Shriram temple is the only massive agitation of its scale after the independence movement. However, unfortunate part is that this agitation is continuing for last 24 years, but this agitation has caused a big shock for Congress party, which was earlier enjoying power by scoring a majority of votes and since the agitation, Congress is able to stick to power with the support of some other political parties. Now, this agitation will be carried to its logical conclusion. For this, Hindus all over the country will be united. Such a resolution was adopted unanimously by hundreds of Dharmacharyas, Saints and Sages in Dharma Sansad (Religious Parliament) organised by Vishva Hindu Parishad on 7th February in Kumbh city. Parliament, which will salute the saffron flag will be established ! – Swami Chinmayanand Maharaj Swami Chinma...

Armed revolutionaries who fought against the British were ‘terrorists’ ! - Bhikhu Parekh

Panaji (Goa) : Lord Bhikhu Parekh, a member of Britain’s ‘House of Lords’ referred to revolutionaries like Swatantryaveer Savarkar, who fought for India’s freedom, as ‘armed terrorists’. In the series of lectures organized in the name of D D Kosambi, such insulting reference was made by Parekh. When after the lecture, during question-answer session, a patriotic citizen, Shri. Shrikant Barve took him to task for the same, Bhikhu Parekh said that his definition of ‘terrorist’ was different. (Bhikhu Parekh has probably been given membership of ‘House of Lords’ for his mentality of referring to the armed revolution of rebelling patriots against English regime. A person, who calls a patriot as terrorist and refers to terrorists with respect, is anti-national and such person can only have different definitions. – editor) Bhikhu Parekh gave a lecture on the subject of ‘India’s tradition of disputes and discussions’. This lecture was organized by Art and Culture Department of...

Ram Setu in danger

The Ram Setu, a land bridge between our southeastern coast in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka, and a valuable civilisational heritage, is being endangered by the UPA coalition, which, frightened by Andimuthu Raja’s move to testify before the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the 2G spectrum scam, has revived the Setusamudram Shipping Canal Project to appease its DMK ally. Indians who pretend that the Setu’s sacredness is a figment of the political imagination of a segment of society may note that the structure has fascinated non-Hindus for centuries. Al-Beruni in the 11th century noted, “Setubandha means bridge of the ocean. It is the dike of Ram, the son of Dasarath, which he built from the continent to the castle Lanka. At present it consists of isolated mountains between which the ocean flows.” The 13th century Venetian adventurer, Marco Polo, mentions ‘Setabund Rameshwara’, a bridge related to Ram. Early European travellers have recorded...

Pakistan sends back 50 stray dogs in response to India's one

Attari/Chandigarh : How deep runs the mistrust between nuclear armed neighbours India and Pakistan was evident yet again on February 15, when Pakistani authorities sent a pack of 50 stray dogs aboard the  Samjhauta Express on February 15  just to bark at Indians. The officials in Lahore had earlier found a street dog in the train as it halted at Lahore station from a trip to Amritsar. Officials in Lahore thought that Indians had sent a street dog to condescend Pakistanis, so they retorted by sending back 50 dogs to Amritsar. The news was broken by a Pakistani daily, which also claimed that prominent officials in Islamabad had been kept in loop about the move and also supervised the rejoinder. It is also learnt that Pakistani authorities had sent some of their ugliest looking dogs, which were deliberately kept hungry before being boarded on the bi-weekly Samjhauta Express.
