"SAD will support whoever BJP chooses as its PM candidate," he told TOI. When asked if he thought Modi was a suitable candidate, Sukhbir said, "Modi is certainly a suitable and ideal candidate. Of the total outstanding investments attracted by the state of Gujarat worth over Rs 14 lakh crore as of December 2012, foreign and domestic private sources account for over Rs 10 lakh crore thereby registering a share of about 73%, according to a just concluded analysis by apex industry body ASSOCHAM. On Thursday, the Gujarat information department in a press release claimed that Ahmedabad was runners up while Surat won at the Annual Survey of India's City-Systems ( ASICS) in different categories. The survey included 11 cities with sizeable population. The survey covered aspects like: urban planning and design, urban capacities and resources, empowered and legitimate political representation and transparency and accountability. These factors were defined as important issues related to the quality of life in a city. Indian cities have scored in the range of 0.7 to 4.5 on a scale of 0 to 10, across all four categories. The cities of New York and London were taken as benchmarks as they scored between 8.1 and 9.9 on the same scale. The Ministry of Urban Development lauded Gujarat on Wednesday when it showcased two key projects from the state as one of the best models to be followed. The praise for the state came during a presentation on Land Economics at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors International Conference 2013 in Delhi. The meet was attended by delegates from the United Kingdom. At the meet, which was also attended by minister Kamal Nath, Urban Development Secretary Sudhir Krishna highlighted the best of use of land by two Gujarat projects, Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project and the Surat City Ring Road Project. He also mentioned a Hyderabad project and Bhopal lake project as other two examples of better land use. "Not one bit of land has to be acquired and commercial land use is made available to parties.
