Now Hindus should lawfully compel, Jayalalita and others, who defamed Kanchi Shankaracharya, to unconditionally apologise to Swami Jayendra Saraswatiji ! - Editor Chennai :  All the accused in the Sankararaman murder case including Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati have been acquitted. The court acquitted all the accused saying the complainant failed to support the prosecution. Sankararaman's wife and daughter did not recognise the accused and failed to support the prosecution. A total of 20 witnesses were examined to prove the murder but most failed to support prosecution. None of the witnesses identified the accused, pointed the court while passing the order. 83 witnesses failed to support prosecution.   Warangal (AP) :  A 12-year-old girl, the daughter of a labourer, was sexually assaulted by Mohd Sarvar Baig, 60, an imam (priest) of Ajmer Jama Masjid at Fort Warangal. The incident took place in a deserted house near Ajmer Jama Masjid on Muharram, November 15, but came to light on Sunday when members of a local Self-Help Group (SHG) took the girl to the Mills Colony police station to lodge a complaint. The Imam has been leading devotees in prayer for the last decade, said sources. Though the child informed her parents, they wanted to hush it up, fearing the wrath of community elders. Since she got no help from her parents, eyewitnesses said that the victim visited houses of nearby residents seeking justice. Distressed by her plight, locals forced community elders to convene a panchayat. The panchayat decided to keep the case under wraps. However, a case was filed against the imam. A Christian woman residing in the Hindu-majority island of Bali was sentenced to 14-months in prison for calling Hindu offerings “dirty and disgusting,” the Supreme Court recently announced. “The defendant Rusgiani, who is also known as Yohana, has been proven validly and convincingly guilty of purposefully and publicly expressing herself in a way to ignite conflict and defame a certain religion in Indonesia,” A.A. Ketut Anom Wirakanta said during the trial at the Denpasar District Court as written in the court ruling. “[The judges] have sentenced the defendant to one year and two months in prison.” The ruling was published by the Supreme Court earlier this month, even though the ruling was delivered on May 14 in the Denpasar District Court.
