Nevada State Assembly in Carson City was invoked by a set of Hindu mantras on May two, containing verses from world’s oldest existing scripture. Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed delivered the invocation from ancient Sanskrit scriptures before the Assembly. After Sanskrit delivery, he then read the English translation of the prayer. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language in Hinduism and root language of Indo-European languages. Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, recited from Rig-Veda, the oldest scripture of the world still in common use, besides lines from Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita (Song of the Lord), both ancient Hindu scriptures. Mangalore (Karnataka) : Cattle hooves were found inside the compound of a Daivasthana in Uchila of Ullal  on May 10, Friday. It may be recalled here that this is the second such instance taking place in the area. On May 9, cattle hoove was found on the Tulasi katte of a house near Uchila bridge. Ullal police suspect the hands of a single group behind both the incidents aimed at disrupting peace. They said they are on the lookout for those miscreants responsible for  such acts. Local MLA UT Khader has suspected that such acts were the handiwork of some forces which are frustrated over their defeat  in the elections.
