Rajiv Pratap Rudy seeks direct election of PM, moves Bill to keep MPs out of ministries

Rajiv Pratap Rudy seeks direct election of PM, moves Bill to keep MPs out of ministries At a time when serious questions are being raised over Parliament not being able to carry out its legislative work owing to frequent disruptions, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy has moved a private member's Bill calling for selection of the prime minister thr ough direct elections — in other words a presidential form of government — and confining MPs and MLAs to only law making. Rudy has suggested de-linking of the executive from elected political representatives both in the states and at the Centre. The elected representatives, he has said, should "confine themselves to framing of laws and hold others accountable for implementation of law, rather than be implementers of law themselves". Barring lawmakers from assuming ministerial or other positions, he argues, would weed out corrupt elements as politics would no more be attractive...

Fearing China, India pulls out of war games with US, Japan

Coward Congress government bowing under Chinese pressure and impotent of protecting the nation should be stripped off their power ! - Editor Concerned at how it would be perceived by Beijing, India last month suddenly withdrew from the planning of a naval exercise with the US and Japanese navies off the US Pacific island of Guam.  Instead, India will stick to geopolitically less sensitive separate naval manoeuvres with the US and Japan. US and Japanese naval officials visited India last month to discuss coordination for the trilateral exercise. The Indian defence ministry first indicated a preference for holding the exercise off the coast of the Japanese island of Okinawa. Then it took the view that war games should be kept to the bilateral level for the time being in deference to Chinese sensibilities. The ministry then withdrew from the discussion altogether. (Where these mighty Chinese who opposed the symposium on war strategy of 3 nations ...

Godhra carnage vs. Pandits exodus

By J. N. Raina, Pune, India based Kashmiri Pandit journalist. On-again, off-again nature of talk about 2002 Gujarat riots, on the heels of Godhra carnage, is preposterous. It is outrageous and disgusting to raise such issues, rendered irrelevant with the passage of time, to tarnish the image of India, booming with economic activity. It is disrespectful to the nation of one billion people. The so-called Tehelka expose has, in fact, exposed the hollowness of pseudo-secularists, who flourish on such gossip. Such loose discussions, brought to the fore repeatedly, should be put to an end once for all. The drum-beaters of secularism are deliberately orchestrating of what they call sting operation, when the Assembly elections in Gujarat are approaching. It is the height of stupidity to claim that the expose just coincided with the announcement of the Assembly poll in Gujarat. In the first instance, such exposures are politically-motivated. The power ...

UPA’s self-serving welfarism is wrecking economy

“Who killed Cock Robin ? Not I said the sparrow” would be an apt reworking of the perceptive old English nursery rhyme as all of them tend to be. This one, with its detail on the aftermath of a murder, the funeral preparations etc. is almost like a repository of political comment dressed up to entertain children. And indeed there are several theories on what it refers to, death of a king, fall of a Government and so on. Unlike the nursery rhyme, in which the sparrow boldly declares he killed the robin with a bow and arrow, our economic scenario tends to have no stewards, or as we like to say mai baap. We, especially, are not in the business of taking responsibility for a debacle. Whatever goes on in India is nobody’s fault, it just happens. This is axiomatic to our thinking. Economically speaking, it is all ad hoc and short term, though our political masters like to pretend that they are working to a grand plan. If we take that intent at face value we...

Anti-Hindu Siddaramaiah's first move : Lifts ban on cow slaughter

O Hindus, this is the outcome of electing Congress to the power ! From the day one, new Congress Govt. has started to steps against religious sentiments of Hindus. Now only establishment of the Hindu Rashtra can save Hindus from the clutches of Congress ! - Editor Anti-Hindu K Siddaramaih, new Karnataka CM Karnataka : K Siddaramaiah, who took over as the 22 nd chief minister of Karnataka  on Monday, is all set to face a stormy legislative assembly session. Among the several decisions that he took after being sworn-in was to reverse the previous Bharatiya Janata Party government’s decision banning cow slaughter in the state. The BJP had decided to implement a ban on cow slaughter in Karnataka when it came to power in 2008 and had passed the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation Bill. This meant that there was a blanket ban on cow slaughter across the state. The same was passed in the legislative assembly. However, Siddaramaia...

Mizoram CM accused of ‘idol worship’ by Christian Extremists in India

Can we believe such statements from opposition party in the state of Bharat, in which more than 80% citizens are Hindus ? O Hindus, at least wake up now and look at the worsening situation of Hindus in Muslim majority states like Jammu and Kashmir and Christian majority states like Mizoram. If you do not unite now and establish Hindu Rashtra, you are going to perish in near future ! - Editor Mizoram : The opposition parties have been criticizing Lal Thanhawla since he returned to power in December, 2008, of indulging in Hidu rituals such as breaking coconuts while inaugurating Mizoram Houses outside the state. The “action plan committee” of the MNF, which met in Aizawl on Thursday, made the decision to hold the rally. A press statement issued by MNF on Friday said the rally would be in protest against worshiping of idols by the head of the state of Mizoram. “A leader may go to the houses of worship of other religion in a secular country, but he or...

Nevada Assembly opened with Hindu mantras

Nevada State Assembly in Carson City was invoked by a set of Hindu mantras on May two, containing verses from world’s oldest existing scripture. Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed delivered the invocation from ancient Sanskrit scriptures before the Assembly. After Sanskrit delivery, he then read the English translation of the prayer. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language in Hinduism and root language of Indo-European languages. Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, recited from Rig-Veda, the oldest scripture of the world still in common use, besides lines from Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita (Song of the Lord), both ancient Hindu scriptures. He started and ended the prayer with “Om”, the mystical syllable containing the universe, which in Hinduism is used to introduce and conclude religious work. Reciting from Brahadaranyakopanishad, Rajan Zed said, “Asato ma sad gamaya, Tamaso ma jyotir gamaya, Mrtyor mamrtam gamaya”, which he then tra...

Corruption-tarred Congress has Rs 180-crore pre-election budget !

O Indians, please note that these 180 crore rupees, which corrupt UPA is going to spend on its so-called achievements is nothing but the taxpayers money. How you can allow your hard earned money to be spent on such improper manner by UPA Govt ? - Editor   It’s still more than eight months before India votes in the Lok Sabha poll, but the ruling Congress has already begin dole-out schemes to woo voters. According to a report published in India Today, the Congress has planned to invest a whopping Rs 180 crore in ad campaigns to be aired on television channels and printed advertisements to remind people of the achievements of the UPA Government in the past nine years of its rule. The advertisements seem to be inspired by the NDA dispensation’s ‘India Shining’ campaign but the Congress leaders have rejected it saying that the ads are based on facts and the good works of the  UPA Government. The ad campaign would comprise of TV spots, short fi...

China intrusion : Government is misleading people!

By Ravindra Narayan Ravi India by withdrawing its troops from Depsang Plains of Ladakh de-facto has conceded this territory to China. It needs certain special talents to interpret an ignominious defeat as a diplomatic victory, says Ravindra Narayan Ravi... It is over four weeks since the Chinese army intruded deep into the Depsang Plains of Ladakh, in the north-western sector of the India-China border, and the strategic community in India seems yet groping to make a sense of the aggression! Utterances of the Indian government officials over the issue have been deliberately misleading and those of commentators largely speculative. The government's unyielding reluctance to share the facts with the country is at the root of wild speculations. Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid first played down the aggression calling it a mere 'acne' and while recently in Beijing sought to further humour his host by not earnestly raising the issu...

Arunachal Pradesh shown as part of China in India’s map by MSSEB !

Maharashtra State Secondary Education Board (MSSEB) treads the same anti-national path of Congress rulers! Inform names of persons responsible for this wrong to ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ ! Those responsible will be stringently punished in Hindu Nation as per the prevailing laws ! Mumbai : China has withdrawn her soldiers intruding Ladakh border; but in India’s map published by MSSEB in Geography text book for tenth standard, it has shown some part of Arunachal Pradesh in China. (Congress rulers exhibited its anti-nationalism by overlooking China’s intrusion in Indian Territory whereas MSSEB has shown that they are no less in exhibition of anti-nationalism by publishing some part of Arunachal Pradesh in China in India’s map in its text book. People should realize that first they have to destroy the anti-national mentality affecting this country which is possible only after ousting of Congress as it is the root cause of such rot. Save this country ...
