Varanasi blasts : UP seeks to withdraw case against 'HuJI man' on the run

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) : The UP government has sought withdrawal of the criminal case against an absconding alleged HuJI operative Shamim Ahmed, accused of planting a bomb in Varanasi in 2006. The bomb, which did not explode, was found soon after the twin blasts at Sankatmochan Mandir and Varanasi Cantt station in which 21 persons died on March 7, 2006. The third bomb had been planted near Jamuna Fatak in Godaulia, in Dasaswamedh police circle. All the bombs were made by packing explosives in pressure cookers. The Varanasi police claimed HuJI had planned the blasts. The UP STF arrested Waliullah, the imam of a mosque in Allahabad, on April 5, 2006, and said he was the mastermind. Police claimed the blasts were executed by three Bangladeshis with whom Waliullah had studied in Deoband. Waliullah is currently in Dasna jail; the trio were never caught. In December 2006, the police named Shamim in the chargesheet. Shamim too was never caught. But in 2008, aft

India looking the wrong side!

China has the unpleasant habit to peep into everybody’s computers. In India, it is not a major issue as the nation is too busy trying to guess (if not bet on) the next move of the BCCI president. However, it does bother others. Quoting a new US report prepared by the Defence Science Board, Reuters recently mentioned Washington’s worries: “Chinese hackers have gained access to designs of more than two dozen major US weapons systems”. In Australia, the Chinese ‘dark visitors’ probably have done better: they are said to have stolen the blueprints of the country’s new intelligence headquarters. Quoting the US report, The Washington Post affirmed that the ‘hacked’ designs included advanced Patriot missile system, the Navy’s Aegis ballistic missile defence systems, the F/A-18 fighter jet, the V-22 Osprey, the Black Hawk helicopter and the F-35 strike fighter. Many rightly ask whether China really has the ability to bring down the communication networks and corrupt v

17 years, Tireless Dedication and THE MAN who did it for the love of his MOTHER!

17 years, Tireless Dedication and THE MAN who did it for the love of his MOTHER! Please read and SHARE... In this age when elderly parents are facing problems living with their grown up children, Kailash Giri from Hinota village of Jabalpur district in Madhya Pradesh provide a modern example of ‘Shravan Kumar’ ( a man who carried his blind mother and father on his shoulders in the ‘Ramayana’ time ) "A few years ago I met with an accident and recovered from it because of th e prayers offered by my mother. It was then that the fire inside me to serve my mother was kindled and the journey that began in 1996," he said. "We are living in a wild society, a society where old-age homes are the fashion of the day. But, today's youth fail to understand that nothing other than serving their parents would give them the satisfaction of leading a meaningful life. What I do may not be practicable for all, but they should pay their gratitude towards their parents to the extent th

The Cockroach Theory for Self Development?

The Cockroach Theory for Self Development ?  A unique point of view... At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on a lady. She started screaming out of fear. With a panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach. Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got panicky. The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but ...it landed on another lady i n the group. Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama. The waiter rushed forward to their rescue. In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter. The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behavior of the cockroach on his shirt. When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant. After watching the amusement, a few thoughts came to mind and started wondering, was the cockroach responsible for their hi

Honey - REAL or FAKE!?

Honey - REAL or FAKE!? In this age of "MADE IN CHINA" we should all be aware of what we are consuming and where it is coming from. The saying "All that glitters is NOT GOLD" fits perfectly these days on almost everything. Test it before consuming it, even from a "BIG BRAND"...

SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE FLOWERS

SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE FLOWERS Flowers teach us the charm of silence and thus the self-giving which demands nothing in return Puja is an integral part of a Hindu household, either on a daily basis or during some important religious function or ceremony. The process can be either a simple ritual or a complicated one, depending on the occasion and according to the Vedas, it is equally important to perform rituals a certain way to derive full benefits from them. One of  the offerings given in puja is flowers, as they vibrate a certain state of consciousness that represents purity. They are rich with abundant qualities of design, color, fragrance, and soft touch and by nature they are a supreme source of joy in this world. Moreover, flowers are substances that are extremely pure, as they can be obtained without engaging in any evil deed. They can be offered without any risk that we may feel miserly or regretful afterwards. So the offering will be made with a pure mind at the be

Processed Meats Declared Too Dangerous for Human Consumption!

Processed Meats Declared Too Dangerous for Human Consumption! The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has just completed a detailed review of more than 7,000 clinical studies covering links between diet and cancer. Its conclusion is rocking the health world with startling bluntness: Processed meats are too dangerous for human consumption. Consumers should stop buying and eating all processed meat products for the rest of their lives. Processed meats include bacon, sausage, ho t dogs, sandwich meat, packaged ham, pepperoni, salami and virtually all red meat used in frozen prepared meals. They are usually manufactured with a carcinogenic ingredient known as sodium nitrite. This is used as a color fixer by meat companies to turn packaged meats a bright red color so they look fresh. Unfortunately, sodium nitrite also results in the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines in the human body. And this leads to a sharp increase in cancer risk for those who eat them. Why You Should Eat a Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast is considered an important meal because it breaks the overnight fasting period, replenishes your supply of glucose and provides other essential nutrients to keep your energy levels up throughout the day. Why You Should Eat a Healthy Breakfast ***************************** Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast provides you with the energy and nutrients that lead to increased concentration in the classroom. Studies show that breakfast can be i mportant in maintaining a healthy body weight. Hunger sets in long before it's time for lunch, but because it's not convenient to eat properly, many people who have not eaten breakfast snack on foods that are high in fat and sugar. People who skip breakfast are unlikely to make up their daily requirement for some vitamins and minerals that a simple breakfast would have provided. Breakfast provides energy for the activities during the morning and helps to prevent that mid-morning slump. Gluco

The Password To This World And More

The Password To This World And More We are part of manifested creation that has the inherent tendency of movement. The movement is either upward or downward, whether in the spiritual, commercial or emotional worlds. Relationships play a significant role in all of this. Nothing is ever constant or unchanging. No matter what your position in life, who you’re with or how much power and influence yo u wield over others, nothing is constant. What goes up has to come down. An average individual does not know what lies beyond the physical world and is so engrossed in the pursuit of the senses and collection of wealth and fame; because of this preoccupation he does not want to understand or know that one day this will all go away due to the inherent destructive nature and non-permanency of all aspects of physical creation, He might search for a guru in the hope that what is temporary can somehow be made permanent. One forgets here that even the guru’s body is not permanent, so to look for p

Congress preparing ground for another communal partition of India

By Hari Om AICC president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi appointed Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister of India in May 2004 for reasons not really difficult to fathom. Ever since then, Manmohan Singh, who contested election to the Lok Sabha only once from New Delhi but lost miserably to the BJP candidate Vijay Kumar Malhotra, has been pursuing a policy that has all the potential of a dangerous respectability to the politics of separatism based on religious fanaticism, and unsettling the settled in the sensitive and strategic Jammu and Kashmir. In fact, he has been dealing with Jammu and Kashmir in a manner that makes one believe that he, like Pakistan, considers this northern State as an ‘unfinished agenda of the partition’ whose political future has yet to be decided. His entire approach towards the State, which comprises three distinct historical, political, cultural and geographical regions – Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh – is patently sectarian, es

Dreams and Sleep explained in Prasnopanishad

Why do we pray?

Why do we pray?  A long but very interesting read, worth sharing...  No matter which culture we may belong to, there is a practice of prayer in every culture. Some of us pray and some of us don’t. Among those who pray, not many know why they do pray. Sometimes, it’s simply that since childhood, we have seen our parents praying, and we have picked up the practice. Of course, at exam time, our faith in an unseen, unknown power gets reinforced. Then, as the saying goes, there  is no atheist in a battlefield. There is also the story about an airhostess on a flight asking, “How many of you believe in God?’ One hand goes up. She replies, “Good, we are one life-jacket less.” A prayer can be expressed in simple words, or can be an elaborate ritual. But all prayers have a purpose. In Hindu culture, before the start of any ritual, we make the sankalpa (promise) that “mama upätta samasta durita-kshyärtham, sri parameshwara-priti-artham,nitya-kalyäna-läbhärtham, aham idam pujäm karishye”, which

U.F.Os and Vimanas

O Rama of unequaled prowess, This aerial car shining like the sun,  Moves as one pleases, w onderful and excellent; This Pushpak of Kuber,  robbed by Ravan in battle, Is retained here for your sake; The yonder aerial car, looking like a cloud,  Stands here and by which transport,  You can reach Ayodhya without any trouble. May prosperity attend you!   - Valmiki Ramayan [6.121.9-11] The above verse describes the  Pushpak Vimaan , perhaps the most famous airship mentioned in the ancient Hindu literature. Many Sanskrit epics contain references to such flying machines called the  Vimaans/Vimanas . These Vimaans were said to be able to travel into space between different planets and were used by various denizens of the higher Lokas. In this post, we shall analyze the evidence in favor of such flying machines being available to the ancients and their similarities to the modern aircrafts. Vimaans in literature There are many descriptions of flying machines that broadly fall into two cat
