ISLAMABAD: A member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani revealed in the National Assembly on Monday that around 5,000 Hindus are migrating from Pakistan to India every year. Commenting on law and order situation in the country, the PML-N MNA said that six incidents of religious desecration happened within last two months in Sindh, majority of the incidents were regarding burning the religious books of Hindu minority in the province. Vankwani said that it was the constitutional rights of the people, belonging to different minorities, to practice their religion freely in Pakistan. “Are we not part of Pakistan?” he questioned. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the Union Home Ministry has decided to issue a high-security alert to every State where the Gujarat Chief Minister is set to address a rally. The report quoting the red alert said that Hyder Ali alias Abdulla, a IM terrorist, is said to have travelled from Lucknow to Gorakhpur on January 11 to target Modi. Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh on Sunday defended the Uttar Pradesh government’s notification providing for a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh only to Muslims affected in the recent Muzzaffarnagar communal riots. “Injustice cannot be done to those Muslim families who have lost not only their members but all possessions and did not want to return to their villages from rehabilitation camps,” Mr. Singh said speaking at a function held at the Islamic Cultural Centre to celebrate his birthday. “What has happened is unfortunate and the lives lost cannot be returned, but we can at least provide succour to the affected families.
