Asserting the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute could be resolved only by Parliament and not by acourt of law, the Vishwa Hindu Parishand today said it would initiate efforts at the Maha Kumbh in Allahabad to ensure that those sensitive towards the sentiments of Hindus were elected to it in a large number. "The proposed construction of a temple of Lord Rama at Ayodhya has hit a deadlock due to legal tangles. The VHP has always believed this is an issue that can be resolved only by Parliament and not by a court of law," Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal told reporters. "We need a Hindutvavadi Sansad (Parliament) wherein elected members are sensitive towards the sentiments of Hindus," he said. Gang Rape Case - Time catch up with Congress leader and Deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha After 17 years , of legal fight Supreme Court decided to set aside Kerala High Court's order acquitting 35 accused in the Suryanelli gangrape case of 1996 in which a 16-year-old girl was gang raped for over 40 days. The girl was threatened, abducted and brutally raped for 45 days by 42 men. Congress leader and Deputy Chairman of Rajyasabha P J Kurian was one of the accused in this case.
