Narendra Modi to attend programme at Sivagiri Mutt in Kerala
Today, Wednesday 24th April 2013 Shri Narendra Modi will be visiting the state of Kerala. He will be visiting the Sivagiri Mutt in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram district. The occasion is the inauguration of Sree Narayana Dharma Meemamsa Parishad Golden Jubilee Valedictory Sammelan and 51ST Dharma Meemamsa Parishad.
The programme that will be attended by Shri Modi will commence at 5 PM on 24th April. It will be presided over by Sreemad Prakasananda Swamikal, the President of the Sivagiri Mutt. Apart from Shri Modi, Sreemad Rithambharananda Swamikal, the General Secretary of the SNDST and Shri V Muraleedharan, the President of Kerala BJP will speak. There will also be a cultural programme later in the evening.
The Sivagiri Mutt was built in 1904 and is situated on top of the Sivagiri Hill near Varkala. The Mutt is a revered place for pilgrims. It is where one of India’s best-known social reformers and sage Sree Narayan Guru’s Samadi is located and the place where he attained enlightenment. The Sivagiri Mutt is also the Headquarters of Sree Narayan Dharma Sangham.
