MODI WINS OVER THE ‘CITY OF JOY’

MODI WINS OVER THE ‘CITY OF JOY’

Modi’s recent visit to Kolkata has been a subject of much political speculation in the recent years. His tour can be seen as a very crucial turning point in the politics of India as this is the first time that the CM from Gujarat has visited West Bengal. And, as the 2014 General Elections are approaching, more and more speculations have started to build around Modi’s visit to Kolkata.
Modi’s political party, BJP has never had a very strong presence in the state of West Bengal. With the Congress, TMC and the Left Front vying for power, BJP has always been an insignificant political party in the state. Narendra Modi has been known to be a strong statesman who cuts across boundaries of state and political ideology. As a matter of fact, people from Bengal were very enthusiastic on his visit even though his party has only 1 Lok Sabha seat from the entire state.
From analysis of his political behaviour on that specific day, it is evident that he had the idea of development in his mind. Under his leadership, Gujarat has developed to a large extent and now he is propagating that same view to the entire nation. Modi believes in breaking down walls of language, religion and party based politics. His ideas of inclusive growth and development are very significant as these are not very prevalent in other states.
So, here are a few highlights:
  • He emphasised on implementing the developmental model of Gujarat in states like West Bengal.
  • His ideas on inclusive growth are necessary for West Bengal, where successive governments have failed to include all classes in their developmental model.
  • A state like Gujarat has endorsed its tourist potentials to a large extent. So, if that model is followed in West Bengal, tourism can generate a large amount of revenue.
BJP has gained a lot due to this visit from BJP. The party has little or no presence in the state. In such a situation, Modi’s visit will instil a sense of confidence among the party workers. A large number of party workers had come to listen to Modi’s speech. He tactfully arranged his ideas on growth along with politics.
At this point of time, it is very difficult for BJP to get a considerable foothold in West Bengal. But, Modi’s visit will help in strengthening the party’s base in these states. Moreover, none of the political parties in West Bengal are political allied with the Bharatiya Janata Party. Tough times might exist but Modi is known to be a person of great calibre. So, at the end of the day, one can expect BJP to gain a strong foothold in the state.
Moving away from politics, we can come to the conclusion that an ideal form of political behaviour is personified by Modi. His ideals and works can be trendsetting and exemplary for a large number of people, and even for his political rivals.
Modi came and conquered…..Bengal wants Modi to be the next PM.

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism!

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism: The Vedas refer to not 33 crore Devatas but 33 types (Koti in Sanskrit) of Devatas. They are explained in Shatpath Brahman and many other scriptures very clearly. "Yasya Trayastrinshad Devaa Ange Sarve Samaahitaa, Skamma Tam Bruhi Katamah Swideva Sah”. ~(Atharva Veda 10-7-13) Which means: with God’s influence, these thirty-three (supporting devta) sustain the world. In Brhadaranyaka Upanishad while discussing Brahman, Yajnavalkya is asked how many gods are there. He says that there are three hundred and three and three thousand and three gods. When the question is repeated? He says, thirty three. When the question is again repeated he says, six. Finally, after several repetitions he says ONE. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 1) The number 33 comes from the number of Vedic gods explained by Yajnavalkya in Brhadaranyaka Upanishad – the eight Vasus, the eleven Rudras, the twelve Adityas, Indra and Prajapati. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 2
