'Playboy' is a notorious adult magazine, published by US-based Playboy Enterprises Inc. is banned in India because of nudity and obscenity in it. HJS and many other organisations are opposing opening of 'Playboy Club' in Goa !

Letter to Goa CM by HJS regarding cancellation of permission to 'Playboy Club'

To,

H’ble Chief Minister
Government of Goa,
Panaji, Goa.

Sub. : Request to oppose and not give permission to start ‘Playboy Club’ in Goa.

Sir,

This is with respect to the news of PB Lifestyle, the Indian firm with rights to the Playboy brand, launching the club in the holiday state of Goa in December this year.

We write to you on behalf of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). The HJS is a registered NGO doing social, religious and National welfare work. Devoted Hindus doing voluntary charitable work have formed this HJS. The HJS is active throughout India and educating Hindus about Hindu Dharma in a spiritually scientific way assisting in practice of Dharma guiding them about individual spiritual practice, awakening Hindus, etc. For further details please visit our website www.hindujagruti.org to know more about our activities.

Goa is known as Parshurambhumi,  is a land of temples and known for its rich cultural heritage .Over recent years Goa has been maligned internationally as a land of Wine, Women and Drugs and to add to this the evil of Casinos is only in the state of Goa. Of late the mining scam has put Goa in the limelight.

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) opposes the starting of ‘PB Lifestyle ‘club in Goa and demands ban on it. Starting of such a club will further add insult to injury and degrade the holy Goan state raising questions on moral values of civilized Goan people. Starting of such a club will re-enforce the maligned image of Goa internationally. When the ‘Playboy’, along with a host of other foreign "adult" magazines, is not permitted in India owing to obscenity laws banning material deemed "lascivious or appealing to prurient interests" starting of such a club is being strongly condemned by the HJS.

In the Hindu Dharma the real wealth of a woman is her chastity and nudity means the destruction of her chastity. Unfortunately nowadays the film stars have a big influence on their audience and are as role models to the younger generation. Such an act by an actress is sending very alarming message to the younger generation and just destroying the foundation of a civilized society.

The BJP is committed to preservation and protection of Indian Culture and tradition. Allowing setting up of club like ‘PB Lifestyle ‘will be just contradiction of the same.

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) strongly requests you to oppose the starting of such a club in Goa and not give permission for the same but take action under the Indian Laws on Obscenity and safeguard the respect and dignity of Goa and the Goans.

We are indeed hopeful of a prompt and positive response in the background of the respect of cultural and traditional values of your party’s commitment.

We await your response in the matter.

Yours truly,

Dr. Manoj Solanki,
State coordinator, HJS

'Playboy Club' news appeared in Times of India

Goa : Former Congress MLA of Calangute Agnelo Fernandes is in negotiations with Playboy Lifestyle, the Indian franchise owners, to set up the first Playboy Club in the country at Candolim.

Barring any last-minute hiccups, the first Playboy Club in India plans to open in Candolim, by December.

Responding to reports that the Playboy Beach Club, as it is being called, will be opening on Candolim beach, Fernandes confirmed to TOI on Friday that he is in negotiations with Playboy Lifestyle to have the club at his beachside property which had the F Beach Club last season and Club Fresh earlier.

"Nothing has been signed yet," Fernandes emphasized, adding that "they're also negotiating with two-three other property owners".

The club, when it opens, is expected to be a slightly tame version of the original. Sanjay Gupta, CEO of PB Lifestyle reportedly said, "The costumes of the bunnies which are integral to the Playboy culture, will be based on Indian sensibilities and morals." This may even mean women in saris, though nothing is clear yet. Playboy bunnies, or waitresses, typically wear black satin bodices, bow ties, cuffs and bunny ears. PB Lifestyle has not yet decided what the waitresses will wear in Goa, the sources said.

"Our clubs will not have any nudity. So there should not be any problem and we are prepared to deal with it if there is any," said Gupta, whose media and real estate company reportedly signed a 30-year licensing agreement with US-based Playboy Enterprises Inc.

A senior official of the state tourism department said that if it indulges in obscenity or nudity, the government will withdraw their permission.

Gupta's company plans to use the Playboy brand and its iconic rabbit-head logo on clubs, bars, hotels and cafes and will spend 2 billion in the first five years, media reports said. The first Playboy property in Goa is likely to be followed by one in Hyderabad.

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism!

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism: The Vedas refer to not 33 crore Devatas but 33 types (Koti in Sanskrit) of Devatas. They are explained in Shatpath Brahman and many other scriptures very clearly. "Yasya Trayastrinshad Devaa Ange Sarve Samaahitaa, Skamma Tam Bruhi Katamah Swideva Sah”. ~(Atharva Veda 10-7-13) Which means: with God’s influence, these thirty-three (supporting devta) sustain the world. In Brhadaranyaka Upanishad while discussing Brahman, Yajnavalkya is asked how many gods are there. He says that there are three hundred and three and three thousand and three gods. When the question is repeated? He says, thirty three. When the question is again repeated he says, six. Finally, after several repetitions he says ONE. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 1) The number 33 comes from the number of Vedic gods explained by Yajnavalkya in Brhadaranyaka Upanishad – the eight Vasus, the eleven Rudras, the twelve Adityas, Indra and Prajapati. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 2
