Mumbai: ’94.3 FM Radio One’ had
put up hoardings ridiculing Lord Sriram while advertising the programme
‘Ban Jao family No. 1’. When the news relating to this advertisement
ridiculing Lord Sriram appeared in Dainik Sanatan Prabhat, three staunch
Hindus have filed complaints against the channel, to the police. Before
that some of the Samiti’s workers had already informed the officers at
the railway stations about the desecration meeting them personally. As a
result of this the hoardings at Borivali have been removed.
Complaints lodged at the police station
Dharmabhimani Mr. Satish Sonar has lodged a
complaint at Pantnagar police station at Ghatkopar (E), Mr. Narendra
Surve has made a complaint at Police station at Ghatkopar (W) and Mr.
Sagar Chopdar has made it at Nerul police station. (Congratulations
to Mr. Satish Sonar, Mr. Narendra Surve and Mr. Sagar Chopdar for being
alert regarding Deities of their faith ! – Editor SP) It has been mentioned in the complaint that such disrespect toward Sriram had hurt Hindus’ feelings.
Positive response from Managment of the Railways
Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, Samiti’s Coordinator of Mumbai
, Thane and Raigad accompanied by Mrs. Varsha Thakar and Mrs Janhavi
Bhardike called upon Mr. Manjit Singh, officer in charge of Central and
Western Railways, Smt. Jagruti Singh , officer in charge of Western
Railway and Mr. M.D. Srivastav, officer in charge of Central Railway.
Mr. Vatkar explained to them how the advertisement was hurting the
feelings of Hindus. All three of them were convinced to admit Samiti’s
stand against the Advertisement and they immediately assured the
delegates of the Samiti that those hoardings would be removed.
Accordingly Mr. Manjisingh and Mr. Srivastav implemented the order and
the boards were removed herewith.
