If the Act to ban the cow-slaughter is not implemented, the vehicles carrying Ministers will be obstructed : Warning to government by H. B. P. Bandatatya Karadkar

Massive protest march on assembly house
Massive protest march on assembly house

Nagpur (Maharashtra) : ‘This government is avoiding the implementation of Act to ban the cow-slaughter for the vote-bank politics. In such a case, Varakaris should also play the game of politics. This is a ‘warning march’ for the government, which is intentionally avoiding the implementation of this Act for last 17 years. Henceforth, only the political party which will implement this Act will remain in power. Now, this issue is not only restricted to religious and social cause, but has become a national level cause. The government should implement this Act before the beginning of forthcoming Summer Assembly Session to be held in Mumbai; otherwise we will not let the business of the House to continue. We will obstruct the roads leading to assembly house.’ This strong warning was issued by H. B. P. Santvir Bandatatya Karadkar in the massive protest march of Varakaris held in Nagpur on 19th December.

For the demands to ‘Save the cow lineage and save the nation’, similarly, to implement the Act to ban the cow-slaughter in the entire state of Maharashtra, a huge protest march of all Varakari sects and other devout Hindu organisations was organised on 19th December from Reshim Bag ground to Assembly House in Nagpur. Thousands of Varakaris and representatives of various organisations participated in this march.

BJP MLAs demanded the implementation of Act to ban the cow-slaughter in both Houses of assembly and undertook sit-in agitation in a vacant space in the House.

Government running away intentionally should be hit hard ! - Mr. Vinod Tawade, Leader of Opposition, Legislative Council

This government is thick skinned. It will not listen to rational talks. Time has come for all of us to hit it hard where it hurts most. This government is intentionally running away from implementing this Act.

This agitation will continue till the implementation of the Act ! - H. B. P. Prakash Maharaj Javanjal

This agitation has been undertaken for the implementation of this Act, and will not stop till the Act is implemented.

Congress government, which is sleeping for past 17 years is a next version of Kumbhakarna ! – Mr. Sudhir Mungantivar, BJP MLA

Kumbhakarna used to sleep for 6 months, but this Congress government, which is sleeping for past 17 years is a next version of Kumbhakarna. We will shed our blood for implementation of this Act.

Congress government is worst than demoness Putana ! - Mr. Abhay Vartak, Spokesperson, Sanatan Sanstha

The sadhana (Spiritual practice) of Varakaris is to visit Pandharpur, and get absorbed in Abhangs (Hymns) of Deity Pandurang. However, it is a sin committed by the government to bring these Varakaris all the way to Nagpur for conducting an agitation. This Congress government is worst than demoness Putana. When it is essential to implement an Act to ban the cow-slaughter, it is insisting on legislating Anti-superstition Bill. This Anti-superstition Act will result in the arrest of Saints, Maharaj. It is necessary for all of us to oppose this Act. The Municipal President of Pandharpur has requested the Home Minister for the grant of Rs. 60 lakhs to build a slaughterhouse. This is a great sin. The government and the Municipal Council will have to endure the adverse effects of this sin if the slaughterhouse is built, but such an activity should not take place. We demand that Pandharpur should be made free of meat and alcohol on the lines of other places of pilgrim such as Haridwar and Rushikesh. Let us all come together and conduct strong agitation.

Open challenge by H. B. P. Nivrutti Maharaj Vakte to Dr. Dabholkar and Sham Manav !

Whoever loses in the debate over Anti-superstition Act should be made to ride an ass !

‘I can prove that the Anti-superstition Act in against Dharma. Let Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, Sham Manav or anybody else confront me. I am ready to hold an open debate with them. Whoever loses in the debate should be made to ride an ass on the roads of Pandharpur.’ This open challenge was voiced today by Bhishmacharya of Varakari sect H. B. P. Nivrutti Maharaj Vakte in the march.

... or the government will have to bear serious effects ! - H. B. P. Nivrutti Maharaj Vakte

H. B. P. Nivrutti Maharaj Vakte told the gathering, “Our scriptures narrate that ‘Those who are responsible for tormenting cow by depriving her of the grass face total annihilation, that the government gets demolished.’ The government should learn a lesson from this. Implement the Act to ban the cow-slaughter as soon as possible, or the government will have to bear serious consequences.”

Early decision will be taken after discussions with the Chief Minister ! - Assurance by Animal Husbandry Minister

On this occasion, Animal Husbandry Minister, Mr. Madhukarrao Chavan arrived at the venue of the march to receive the memorandum on behalf of the government. After accepting the memorandum, Mr. Chavan said, ‘Early decision will be taken on the implementation of the Act after discussions with the Chief Minister.’

Congress Minister asking Varakaris to step down from the rostrum !

When Minister Mr. Madhukarrao Chavan arrived to accept the memorandum, he was reluctant to climb on the rostrum. He asked Saints and other dignitaries to step down from the rostrum. Then, H. B. P. Prakash Maharaj Bodale said while addressing the Minister, ‘Honourable Minister, at least now, you should awaken. Instead of dragging Varakaris to lower level, you lift yourself to the higher level.’

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism!

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism: The Vedas refer to not 33 crore Devatas but 33 types (Koti in Sanskrit) of Devatas. They are explained in Shatpath Brahman and many other scriptures very clearly. "Yasya Trayastrinshad Devaa Ange Sarve Samaahitaa, Skamma Tam Bruhi Katamah Swideva Sah”. ~(Atharva Veda 10-7-13) Which means: with God’s influence, these thirty-three (supporting devta) sustain the world. In Brhadaranyaka Upanishad while discussing Brahman, Yajnavalkya is asked how many gods are there. He says that there are three hundred and three and three thousand and three gods. When the question is repeated? He says, thirty three. When the question is again repeated he says, six. Finally, after several repetitions he says ONE. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 1) The number 33 comes from the number of Vedic gods explained by Yajnavalkya in Brhadaranyaka Upanishad – the eight Vasus, the eleven Rudras, the twelve Adityas, Indra and Prajapati. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 2
