MLA Jitendra Awhad promises safety to encroachments at Thane and Mumbra

Thane (Maharashtra) : Few days back, an unauthorized under construction 7 storey building collapsed killing 72 persons after which the issue of unauthorized constructions going on at Thane and Mumbra has drawn lot of attention. The Forest Department has stated that NCP MLA, Jitendra Awhad promises safety to unauthorized constructions at Thane and Mumbra. Two years back, officers from Forest Department, who had gone to remove thousands of encroachments on their land, were abused by Awhad and they were even threatened with life. (In this case, among the 9 persons arrested so far, there is a NCP councilor Hira Patil. Will Police Commissioner of Thane show guts to arrest NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

1. There are 45,000 unauthorised constructions on the land of Forest Department in Thane district. Mumbai High Court in the year 2011, had ordered to take necessary action against such constructions. (Court should take action against rulers and administrators for not implementing their orders ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)  

2. Accordingly, Forest Department had issued notices to all the concerned and undertook demolition drive from 4^th June 2011 against constructions at Gotheghar – Daighar area. Few hooligans, however, forced the drive to stop within 4 days.

3. On 11^th June, Jitendra Awhad abused Forest officers. On 13^th June, he went to office of Forest Department along with 50-60 people and started bullying the staff. Some of the hooligans and elected representatives threatened to kill the officers and rape their family members. (Such elected representatives like Awhad are indicating the futility of democracy. Awhad always accuses Sanatan without any proofs; but how is he going to face the above accusations? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

4. Forest Department lodged complaint with the police in this connection; but no action was taken. The whole series of incidents was informed by G. T. Chavan, the Dy. Forest Guard by writing a letter to additional Chief Secretary; even then, there was no support given at Government level. (Rulers are not taking care of officers fighting for truth and justice. How can they give a State of law and order? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)   

People, who believe in law, must be feeling that if Awhad is ready to get hanged; he need not be stopped !

Awhad is ready to be hanged for unauthorized constructions. ‘Tthese people are staying on the land of Forest Department from 1970-80. If some officer feels like taking action on some day, it is wrong to do so. (Not because an officer felt like taking action; but it was done as per the Mumbai High Court’s orders. Awhad does not want to pay heed to even Court’s orders. People like him should be put behind bars for working against law; but with NCP rule, it is not possible. Now law-abiding citizens should try to do something ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) There are 70% unauthorized constructions in Thane. (A politician talks about unauthorized construction with such guarantee. Is it lawlessness of politicians or futility of democracy? Action should be taken against rulers, administrators and police who allow unauthorized constructions on such large scale – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) If action is taken against the residents who are staying in huts for years together, I will oppose even today. Even if it is a crime, I will commit it agains and again and I am ready to even be hanged for this crime, stated Awhad in his response given to a newspaper. (When jihadi terrorists are not being hanged, who will hang supporters of unauthorized constructions? Therefore, Awhad is talking so confidently. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) He also said that threats to kill or rape were not given.
