Islamist violence kills 40 across Bangladesh

At least 27 people were killed in clashes across Bangladesh between police and Islamist group Hefajat-e-Islam, which demanded that the Government enact an anti-blasphemy law and hang atheist bloggers.
Recent violence by the Islamists has claimed the lives of at least 40 people since Sunday.
The Islamists struck terror in the districts of Narayanganj, Hathazari and Bagerhat on Monday, hours after activists of the group lay siege to Dhaka’s Motijheel area, The Daily Star reported.
Twenty of the victims, including two policemen and a BGB soldier, were killed in Narayanganj, six at Hathazari in Chittagong and one in Bagerhat during violence that left more than 200 people injured, the report said.
The activists were among thousands demonstrating around Dhaka, blocking roads and cutting off the city from the rest of the country.
Activists of the Islamist group ran riot on at least 10 points on a three-kilometre stretch on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway from Signboard to Kanchpur Bridge.
They also vandalised and torched about 10 vehicles, including a Rapid Action Battalion car, and set fire to a police outpost on the highway.
Police said protesters also set many shops and at least 30 vehicles on fire. Authorities deployed more than 15,000 security forces in the capital.
Hefajat chief Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi then headed to Chittagong from the organisation’s headquarters in Dhaka. Shafi was told – Get arrested or leave Dhaka.
On Monday, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) dismantled the Gonojagoron Mancha at Shahbag intersection in the capital.
The Police also imposed a ban on meetings, processions and rallies in its area for 13 hours from Monday morning to avert anarchy and confrontation.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ruling Awami League and an alliance of 18 Opposition parties led by former PM Khaleda Zia had planned rallies on Monday.
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has suspended a pro-Jamaat-e-Islami TV channel Diganta Television.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir released on bail, two months after he was sent to jail in vandalism cases.

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism!

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism: The Vedas refer to not 33 crore Devatas but 33 types (Koti in Sanskrit) of Devatas. They are explained in Shatpath Brahman and many other scriptures very clearly. "Yasya Trayastrinshad Devaa Ange Sarve Samaahitaa, Skamma Tam Bruhi Katamah Swideva Sah”. ~(Atharva Veda 10-7-13) Which means: with God’s influence, these thirty-three (supporting devta) sustain the world. In Brhadaranyaka Upanishad while discussing Brahman, Yajnavalkya is asked how many gods are there. He says that there are three hundred and three and three thousand and three gods. When the question is repeated? He says, thirty three. When the question is again repeated he says, six. Finally, after several repetitions he says ONE. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 1) The number 33 comes from the number of Vedic gods explained by Yajnavalkya in Brhadaranyaka Upanishad – the eight Vasus, the eleven Rudras, the twelve Adityas, Indra and Prajapati. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 2
