‘Dev-bhoomi Raksha’ movement started at Uttarakhand

July 17, 2013
Joint efforts of pro-Hindu organizations in India ! – Shri. Vinay Panwalkar (Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s Coordinator for North India), Rhushikesh
We are presently at ‘Paramartha Niketan Ashram’ in Rhushikesh. This ashram is run with the inspiration of H.H. Chidananda Muni. Swami Narayan Ashram has sent aid including grains, medicines and other things in 16 trucks for the flood affected people of Uttarakhand.  All this material is stored at Paramartha Niketan Ashram and the local activists are running two centers for the help of aggrieved people in two villages at twenty kilometers distance. We, as representatives of pro-Hindu organizations from all over India, are learning for last two days about how to run such disaster management centers. We have so far learnt about how to keep record of things received and sent out, how to take care of food items so that they are not spoilt and how to extend help by going to villages.
Under the ‘Dev-boom Raksha’ movement, we, representatives of pro-Hindu organizations have been given the responsibility of Chamoli village i.e. to help the calamity-stricken people. On 13th July, we left for this place which is on a peak of mountain. Here, we will be setting up the aid centre and start our work. Under the ‘Dev-bhoomi Raksha’ movement, second group of ten persons of representatives of pro-Hindu organizations from all over India, will be reaching Uttarakhand on 17th July. That group will take over the assistance work.
Paramartha Niketan Ashram from Rhushikesh has not only made provision of lodging and boarding of the representatives of pro-Hindu organizations; but also made available a room to be used as office and a computer and we offer immense gratitude for the same.

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism!

The concept of 33 koti devata in Hinduism: The Vedas refer to not 33 crore Devatas but 33 types (Koti in Sanskrit) of Devatas. They are explained in Shatpath Brahman and many other scriptures very clearly. "Yasya Trayastrinshad Devaa Ange Sarve Samaahitaa, Skamma Tam Bruhi Katamah Swideva Sah”. ~(Atharva Veda 10-7-13) Which means: with God’s influence, these thirty-three (supporting devta) sustain the world. In Brhadaranyaka Upanishad while discussing Brahman, Yajnavalkya is asked how many gods are there. He says that there are three hundred and three and three thousand and three gods. When the question is repeated? He says, thirty three. When the question is again repeated he says, six. Finally, after several repetitions he says ONE. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 1) The number 33 comes from the number of Vedic gods explained by Yajnavalkya in Brhadaranyaka Upanishad – the eight Vasus, the eleven Rudras, the twelve Adityas, Indra and Prajapati. (Chapter I, hymn 9, verse 2
